India Vs Australia 5th November 2009

During witnessing todays match against INDIA and AUSTRALIA i went through numerous feeling, sometimes i felt out of world ,sometimes i felt disgusted, manytimes too happy and finally distressed.Nonetheless i was mesmerised by the superb inning by our legend "Sachin R Tendulkar".I remember i was in 6th when i have seen sachin in such an impeccable form.It was the sharjahan tour that time.And today it was an experience for a life time that i witnessed master blaster in such a perfect rhythem.175 runs of a mere 141 balls was stunning.I was praying that may he break the record of highest score in ODI along with the record of crossing 17 grands of runs.He gave his hundred percent in the match to take india past the giant 350 set by aussies,he has done his part.Now here comes the lacuna in indian team, not a single player except raina supported the labour of master blaster.I know this happens in game like cricket but cant we expect indian bowlers or the bottom order players of indian team to make atleast 20 runs having sufficient deliveries left.

This is the case with indian bowlers since decade's.Really if indian bowlers are in crease and we have only 5 runs to win,then also we cannot rely on them and switch off the television saying "we have won".I dont know why the heck the indian bowlers are not trained enough in batting.This has been the trend since we have srinath and venkat prasad and after more than a decade now we are in the same position.What the indian coaching is doing for it.One of my friend said "i am sitting in front of television so that he may play well"(he believe he is lucky for sachin and i too believe my friend).He really did sat throughout the match.And like him we have millions of indians seeing the match hoping india to win with such a great inning by master blaster.And the dream shattered just when it was in the verge of getting fulfilled.We lost by a mere 3 runs.This match is an eye opener for indian cricket association to have a thorough introspection in their plan and to fill up the loopholes.Then only we can expect our team to win after such a performance by some players.Lets hope for the best in the upcoming matches and in the upcoming days (lately).

OSUM which stands for open source university meetup is the most vibrant community of student developers and on-campus clubs anywhere. OSUM club of our college is sponsered by SUN MICROSYSTEM'S which is the biggest promoter of open source software.OSUM club of our college have been organising and will be organising a number of technical talks for the students of our college.At present this club have 165 members which is the highest in any osum club in these zone.All thanks to Nit Jsr students fraternity.

Software Freedom Day 2009

Software freedom day is all about celebration of free and open source software(FOSS). My event was sponsored by Sun Microsystems and coordinated by Software Freedom International which is a non profit organisation in USA.

Myself Pradeep along with my friend priyaranjan organised sfd 2009 in our college on 9th october. The event was awesome with number of students turning up for the event crossing 400, unexpected huhhhh!! The whole of the seminar hall was filled with students all around.Unfortunately upto 100 students kept standing and many more went back coz the there was no space,the hall was absolutely packed. Those who were standing through out the sfd celebration showed a great zeal to be apart of SFD celebration,to be a part of OSUM,to be a part of my presentation.The attendees were intelligent,energetic and full of enthusiasm.

I started off with a welcome speech to all the attendees and giving them the necessary details about OSUM club of our college.I told them when our osum club was formed,what it has been doing and what it will do.I told them about objectives of OSUM club and also all the details about the techncal and not technical events we conduct in our club.No doubt they have started calling OSUM as "Awesome" and its awesome indeed!!


Then i began with the presentation on Software freedom day.I told them about SFD agenda and urged them about adoption of FOSS (free and open source software world wide).I informed them about our goal which is to educate the worldwide public about of the benefits of using high quality FOSS in education, in government, at home, and in business -- in short, everywhere. Meanwhile i explained them about visions to empower all people to freely connect, create and share in a digital world that is participatory, transparent, and sustainable.And about our objective to foster a general understanding of software freedom, and encourage adoption of free software and open standards and create more equal access to opportunities through the use of participatory technologies

Now came the point to explain them the details of free and open source software i.e about what ,why,how of open source! .Open source brings shared innovation, customer and partner benefits,increased quality and security.I explained them a number of open source products of SUN MICROSYSTEM and gave them small detail about the usuage of these softwares. Detailed description about solaris and netbeans i plan to teach them in upcoming events.In addition to that i gave them examples of a number of open source software which they can use like GIMP editor for photo editing( equivalent to adobe photoshop), okular for editing pdf (equivalent adobe acrobate reader), k3b which is used for writing cd's and dvd's.etc.... i explained them about open source licensing categories which are UNRESTRICTIVE LICENSE,FILE BASED LICENSE and PROJECT BASED LICENSE.I myself made presentation in open office and used it for giving presentation , so the whole presentaion had a open source fervour.It was an eye opener for them coz hitherto many of them were not knowing about open source software.

Going toward end i gave them small explainattion about Solaris which is unix based operating system from SUN Microsystems. I will be having my next presentaion on open solaris in which i will be taking the installation of it and general commands. with this the presentation came to an end.

FUN events:
QUIZ
Then i conducted quiz for all the students based on the presentations i have given.The question were very simple. the winners of the quiz will get prizes .There were upto 400 students to i will be checking their paper and declaring the result afterwards. Questiona were like 1) full form of SUN i.e stanford university network, 2) Solaris is based in which OS?? UNIX!!! etc. At the end i asked them to Write their opinion about Software freedom day and give us a brief feedback. I have received 400 feed backs and they were guiding and praiseworthy.

TECHNICAL DUMCHARADE

I made six Teams of 5 members each and the called one team at a time. One of the member of the team were given the word to act and others have to guess!The teams were so very perfect in expressing themselves just by acting ( no lip movement). Words given for acting were solaris, open office, glass fish, My sql , sun microsystem etc...... they all acted brilliantly in every given question. Finally after very long 4 to 5 rounds of competition we got our teams getting first ,second and third positions. All the winners were gifted with Pens and OSUM century club batches.

This was the time when our heartly awaited event SFD is coming to an end. Cd's od open solaris ,stickers of OSUM and batches of osum club were distributed to everyone before making them leave the seminar.However batches were very few so everyone was not able to get the batch.
Finally i thanked them all for being a wonderful students and taking so much of interest in coming to SFD event. I have promised them to arrange the next event in much more better way.I am even more thankful to my friend priyaranjan who helped me for the event since so many days. He worked equally hard with me for making SFD event a grand one.It requires a great heart and best attitute to be like him.Thanks alot friend.Really the day was AMAZING.......

Days Nowadays......

Already the placements have kicked off in our college with IOCL inaugurating the show.All the students are caught with the placement fever which is mundane these days (Does this include me??).Every one's busy deciding which company to sit for,which company to spare or which company to be called next!! (Does i have this choice???).Every one's prepared with their formals ready for placement (do i have any??).Am i prepared for interviews either technically or mentally??

The but obvious answer  is "NO" to all these questions.It is only because i belong to once an elite branch Computer Science (still it is the one).Computer Science which is an official sibling of IT .IT the backbone of IT sector which is now pathetically hit by recession bug.Inturn we are badly hit by recession bug. IT firms are busy doing lay offs and deferring joining so when we will they ever think of recruitment?.Its the question which has grimaced IT fraternity.No doubt the core branches are still cutting the cake.(inme recession ka bhi asar nahi!!).Atleast we have reasons to celebrate for our batchmates.We have some out of sight benefit if they get placed soon.Try guessing!!

I have expected earlier to get the job in july or august this year and be free as a bird for the remaining final year (Best case analysis) but contrary to my expectations i may have to wait for a job until last month of my college life (Worst case analysis).Moreover the most glaring lacuna nowadays is that 90% of the IT firms have not given their joining to freshers of present year.I really pray for them to get joining soon.If not placement then higher study is the option left for all but there are few like me for whom job is a must(need) and entirely different plan for higher study.Higher study is not an easy job either it requires to face another exam plus good luck plus an amount of  fee.Truely i plan to do it after some job experience.

A candle of hope is that the market condition is improving and it will soon recover completely.Economist's says "The worst is already been seen".This we can even reason from BSE curves,although it fluctuates but its good enough to witness the recovery.The rate determining US economy also needs to improve gradually like ours then only we can be out of devil named recession.I have always believed "Time qualifies everything".Let see what does i have in my share?????

Life's a reality show n i wanna win it

I have been indulge for past few months watching reality shows.I'm an extra ordinary fan of roadies and splits villa.I should not forget to mention at this point that i have even done revision of roadies 6.0 and vilaa umpteen times.These shows merely show the way one survives,the way one cheats and gets cheated,the way one fights for being on the safer side and makes others fight,the way one lives and let other's live, and the way one succeeds.I sometimes think i should also given a try to 'em and be the winner there (perchance!!).But the truth is that we all are already in a reality show.We are playing the biggest,the interesting and the most dangerous reality show of all time.We all are playing the reality show named "Life",director being the supreme power "God" and actors being "Us".

Hitherto what i have perceived is that life is a reality show and we need to win it.We will find many who are always ready to cut our throat and desperately waiting for it(enemies).Also we will find some helping blood who will be by our side no matter whatever be the condition(parents,love and good friends).And we all want to be a winner in our life!!And the way i am playing my part in the show of life could be rated merely 30 out of 100 (Rated by me).Credit for these ratings goes to director (God) for throwing frequent bouncers and to my star for being so very shining (take it with a pinch of salt).

So i need to be more concious about what i want from life.And i should also be more laborious in the march to be a victor.I make it a commitment to achieve triumph from this unforeseen show of life.

Its the summer of 2k9 that has taken a toll on me.Its too hot here @ jsr.I have never been in such places where temperature hovering between 45 to 50 degree.one may think then,y am i not doing an arrangement for it??I already have done some(by arranging for air cooler) but my condition in this hotness is so pathetic that even cooler is not at all sympathetic!!!This hotness is not really allowing me to do anything fruitful,not even study( is it merely an excuse for not studying????).

When i step out these days i feel like doing an immunity task for roadies (๏̯͡๏) .And but for the few kg's of water melon every day i am immune yet.Also the troublesome days are ahead when both exam and summer of 2k9 will play a prank with me.Every thing seems damn irksome in such atmosphere.Whilst IPL is also going on but it's also not creating any interest in my teadious life( again the credit goes to summer of 2k9).The only best part of my day is when i chat with my better half.Love you for making the world look so beautiful.

News says that the average temperature this year have risen in every city.Does it has anything to do with global warming.Well i donno much bout it but it really seems the temperature of the world is increasingMy perception says its a dangerous portent for upcoming years.And i have started to witness the effect it can bring forth in the guise of summer of 2k9.Taking an optimistic view i can only hope to be back home soon although the chances are minute.Lets get back to work and keep winning the immunity.

yesterday was IBM technology day!!!!! My title says the thing what could have happend in IBM technology day.Yes none other then some lectures about some technologies.I was expecting it to be a sort of somniferous lecture.For me it was more of a session of lunch than session of teachings. But contrary to what i had expected,i got interested in the topics right from the beginning.None could have avoided being caught in the brilliant topic like Main-Frames.I came to know how versatile is the mainframe system(we call it system z nowadays).The whole seminar was filled with corporate fervour.Inspiring were the techies who came from IBM.The way they speak,the way the explain and the way the present themselves every thing was perfect.I felt myself being part of IBM firm during those hours with them, albeit vicariously.

And about mainframe what i can say is that i is really a boon for all enterprises.A single mainframe system is equivalent to 1000's and 1000's of servers all under one umbrella,which leads to saving of money and space(what more an organization wants).I also aspire to be working with mainframes some day(whats wrong in at least dreaming).But i dream that my dream come true.

Now coming to the firm IBM.Its in my list of dream company not only because its MNC but also coz they are corporate giants in field of emerging technologies particularly mainframes.I love to be working there.Lets us see will the luck permits and preparation helps.cheer's for now..................

Out of web since a fortnight!!

How easy going were the days fortnight before when i was trapped in the net.I was enjoying every second of being caught in that net.Yes i am talking about net that spans across the world,that includes all the world in itself,net that is omniscient,net which connect me to the millions of people.yes i am talking about WEB-NET!!!

Correctly been said that "Absence makes heart grow fonder".And its the internet i am fondering for!As for the absence of it i am out of circle from the social networking(no orkut!!) , i am out of date with whats going in the world(no times of india,no news),and i am out from the sea of entertainment(coz i'm unable to download movie,songs etc,although i manage them some how).Its pathetic going this way,how can a staunch netizen like me could bear the absence of internet.I get left with alot of time leaving behind few hours of studies + chatting in mobile.so i have appended the hours i do surfing everyday to the hours i sleep.This tells how lethargic i'm and also answers to those who say how i have got healthier???

My emotions about absence of net in my hostel rises manyfold when i find its the only hostel in the college where the problem has occured.Thanks god its the whole hostel,not the only floor(in which i live).Every day surfing was mundane for me but now i feel they were special days.Moreover it makes me realize how much importance of WWW for every student from every perspective.What i can do is just wish that the problem gets rectified soon.But all it depends on Top brass(Mr .....) to play his role properly (by rectifying the problems) and make his subordinates(read sufferer's) safe to the attack from the enemies(read frequently occuring fault's and inconvenience).

Eventually I'm thankful to my charismatic love for making me aware of my newly arrived mails,and keeping me update with whats going in on world.I love you for everything you do for me.

Five years and counting.........

Five years ago on this day,as i started my day i was unknown that this day is going to be the most important day of my life.I asked that day to my beloved for a life long loveship.Ya i was anxious to change my best friend to my beloved.She was too in love with me that time,but was the reply affirmative??

yes after one day she agreed to my endeavour to be life-partners!!But none the less, we obviously were made for each other.

Thanks to my charismatic love(my beloved) for making my life worth living there after.Its only coz of her trust,love and support that we are today celebrating the five years of being together.Its true that time flies,but with her love and care in my life time passes with a blink of eyes.Its been five years since we are together and life is becoming more interesting and more beautiful every day.we’ve faced obstacles we never dreamed we’d see, and overcome them all.

                                Its tough to live far without seeing and meeting each other but when i think of those wonderful days when we will be together,i get strength to carry on!!As with every breath we are coming close the day when we will tie the knot.

My life cannot be thought of withour her.I will be with her till the end of time making her feel how wonderful life is!Finally i vow to my beloved that very soon i will make her my bride.(Dulhan hum le jayenge!).

Back to college.........

Well i am back to college now,after a very stunning holiday!This vacation passed faster than ever before.And the returning journey was fantastic too coz i had a tryst with my love where i gifted her with a watch(ofcourse less beautiful than her).Now its time for tryst with  study in college!!

Nothing new nowadays so i will come back soon with another blog soon.....

Sometimes i feel:

"Life is my college. May I graduate well, and earn some honors!"

Exam ended @ 12.00PM and i was out of hostel @ 4.00PM

Exam ended @ 12.00PM and i was out of hostel @ 4.00PM?????It means my exam got ended at 12.oopm today(6th march) and i 

came out for my journey to home at 4.00!!But this is not true i have already sent all my mind,all my feelings ,all my thoughts

since the day i planned to go home for vacation!Yeah.....what an exciting feeling it is to go home soon after exam!!

Anyways i have a resolution this time before going home --->To have complete rest and no brain teasers with books unlike

previous times.

The best part about this times exam is that i was too much kool

throughout the exams and the preparation got completed very

soon everyday(with lots of pranks in between).

Thanks to my genius(rj,pandey n pj) and extra ordinary(pj!!) friends for this nice time and excellent preparation!

Now no more talk about studies.........

How precarious life is!!!!

Its true that we live a precarious life, that as human beings we are always one illness or one  accident away from death.No matter what we do,no matter what we think,the only truth is that we dont know what is going to happen next moment?I am haunted with the experiences i am having nowadays.I am affraid after seeing guiltless people becoming prey to the brutality of life.Umpteen questions are revolving in my mind since then and i dont know what answers they have.

                                              I dont know why the life is so unpredictible and why it is so painful sometimes?why does god makes suffer someone so much?why does the happily going life comes to stable suddenly?God,why does you give pain to the parents by shattering their dreams within a second????what principles did he follow to take the life of innocent's????

                                                                 I am not able to focus on my work nowadays and cannot muster up courage to do anything(coz i am affraid where that action will end?).I'm sure all my college mates are going through the same feeling,infact more pathetic than mine.How can we come out of this labyrinth of trouble and mental suffering's??God give us strength and serenity to come up from these feeling's.Lets pray for the peace of everyone.God bless all.
